On Sunday, July 6, the ASHBA Board of Directors held a regularly scheduled board meeting in Lexington to discuss a number of topics important to our organization and the integrity of the breed. These incredibly productive discussions allowed the Board to arrive at important decisions around governance, finances and accounting, organizational and show policies, and equine welfare, among others. |

The Bill Wise Sweepstakes Program, jointly with the American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association (ASHBA), announces the transition of the Bill Wise American Saddlebred Sweepstakes Program from ASHBA. This decision fulfills a personal request from the late Bill Wise, who was the driving force behind establishing the Bill Wise American Saddlebred Sweepstakes Program nearly 50 years ago. |

The American Hackney Horse Society Foundation Scholarship will be awarded to high school graduates on the basis of submitted evidence of academic success, financial need, extracurricular activities (including community service), involvement with Hackney Horses and/or Ponies, and personal references. An interview may also be required. |

R.H. Bennett announced that new footing will be used for the upcoming Shenandoah Classic, held June 17-21 at the Virginia Horse Center, Lexington, Virginia. Kristen Cater, Steve Crabtree and Kim Crumpler will judge the 2025 event. |
